10,000 and counting!!!

WOW...my cup runneth over....I was SO excited to do a little mini celebration in honor of our 10,000th transaction and when I went to check the numbers we figured out we were actually OVER that number! WHAT? really? It seems like we just opened, just celebrated our first year and now we SURPASSED the 10,000 mark?? WOW...

(speechless)...in fact now we are hovering on 12,000!!!

I learned in week 2 of opening that NO ONE will love, cherish or appreciate our shop like my hubby and I....but EVERYONE will have their opinions! I laugh on a daily basis at some of the emails that I get of people giving me "advice" on how to run Brow Betty. The usuals are about pricing (of course), services offered (NO we don't WANT to do facials or massage), products (sorry, your sister's hand-made oven mitts are adorable but not in my shop!) and our walk-in policy (over half of our daily clients are walk-ins so NO we are not going to start appointment only) Here are some of the ones that made me laugh out loud....
" I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT YOUR SHOP EXCEPT:"... you should have (fill in the blank) magazine for me to read.....the front desk should be at a different height it's too awkward.....you need a bullatin board like starbucks so I can post my business cards....you need more artwork on the walls....I prefer non antibacterial soap in the bathroom....the music should be softer....the music should be louder....and the best by far was.....your fire extinguisher should be in a different place.....

I am the most opinionated person I know so keep 'em coming and please know that we will always take a look and evaluate if it will bring added value to the salon...no comment every goes unnoticed!

On that note, I would like to pass along a few "suggestions" to you that have been brought up to me by our team and/or other clients....always tricky...but here goes:

BEING LATE / NO SHOWS - Please, please, please call us if you are going to be late or not be able to come if you have an appointment. We block out 15-30 minutes depending on various criteria and we get SO many walk-ins that will WAIT to take your spot if you do not show up! It is SO IMPORTANT that you get here on time or if you are running late...give us a call so we can get the person waiting in and then get you in next! Please just program us into your cell phone!!

FULL BETTY etiquette- A few things before you come in for your Full Betty...please be freshly showered before your appointment! If you must come straight from the gym please freshen up before you come! Also, 10-14 day regrowth is highly recommended! Especially if you are new clients trying for the first time and have been shaving in the past! Also, please come trimmed for your first time...we have decided NOT to trim in our salon...hair can get everywhere when you start that process and I am sure you don't want to walk out with someone else's hair on your shoes.(eeewwww!) We don't recommend coming in for a Full Betty while on your period...you will be much more sensitive to pain and we don't want to be the tampon police.( I know...another eeewwww!) We follow state board rules very closely and try and keep our salon squeaky clean! I have given my team full empowerment to refuse service if they are not comfortable or if the situation is not safe for either party. To cut down on discomfort we recommened an ibuprofen an hour before your appt and then another after and ice pack if really needed. You will get used to it once you have seen us a few times! Just be ready mentally and talk it through with your esthetician on any questions or details you may have!
